On Thursday afternoon at approximately 15:18hrs the members of the East Greenbush Fire Department were alerted by the town of East Greenbush Emergency Communications Center for a mutual aid request requiring a full department response for the Port of Rensselaer tanker box 2nd alarm assignment. Our members responded to several traffic accidents this month,
however the most significant call was on October 24th. At approximately 17:09hrs our members were alerted by the
town of East Greenbush Emergency Communications Center of a multi-car accident at the Interstate 90, Exit 9
eastbound on ramp that required heavy extrication involving multiple patients. [...]
At approximately 16:39hrs on October 16, 2017 the East Greenbush Fire Department
was dispatched to the Wal-Mart store located at 279 Troy Road for a reported structure fire. As Car 1 and Car
4 were responding to the call, the East Greenbush Emergency Communications Center alerted both Chiefs that an
EGPD Sergeant arrived on scene and stated he had a heavy smoke condition inside the building [...]

2nd alarm assignment and then a 3rd alarm to Glenwood Rd in the Defreestville fire District. [...]
On October 1, 2017 the County memorial service for
Emergency Service members who have passed away in the last year was
held at Hudson Valley Community College Bulmer Communications Center.
The names of 75 Police,
ambulance and Fire personnel were
read and remembered at the service.

On Saturday, September 9, 2017 19 members from the East Greenbush Fire Co. participated in the 129th Annual Greene County
Firefighters Convention held in East Durham. The East Greenbush Fire Co. marched behind District Chief Robert Lehmann and the department was awarded two 1st place trophies;
Best Appearing Fire Unit out of county and Best Appearing Apparatus out of County. [...]

proudly announces the recipient of the Barbara J. Lehmann Memorial Scholarship Program for 2017.
Through the Barbara J. Lehmann Memorial Scholarship Program, the East Greenbush Fire Company
provides scholarship grants to qualified applicants seeking to advance their education in
their chosen field of study.
The 2017 recipient is Bailey Caruso. Ms. Caruso is studying
Chemistry/Adolescence Education at the State University of New York at Plattsburg and plans to become
teacher. Ms. Caruso was presented with a Scholarship of $500.00 at the Fire Company's August 15th meeting.
The East Greenbush Fire Company commends Ms. Caruso for her admirable academic achievements and
pursuit of a STEM higher education.
